A cemetery for American military who died during WWII
Formerly known as Decoration Day, the last Monday in May has been observed as a day of remembrance for all fallen American soldiers. First celebrated after the Civil War to commemorate fallen Union soldiers, it was extended after WWI to honor all those who died in combat.
A moment of silence is traditionally observed at 3 PM local time.
